    JSW Infrastructure beefs up capacity to achieve 200 MT target by 2020

    JAIGARH: JSW Infrastructure is strengthening its last mile connectivity at Jaigarh Port and beefing up capacity as it aims to achieve 200 MT by 2020 from across all its ports in India.
    Located along the west coast in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, Jaigarh Port inaugurated a 42 km road between Jaigarh Port and Nivali as well as laid the foundation stone for Jaigarh - Dighni Railway Line.

    It also inaugurated a mechanised coastal berth which will help in serving coastal cargo for Capesize vessels and transform the port into a transshipment hub as well as enhance handling capacity.

    The greenfield port currently has a capacity of 15 MT per annum and will be achieving 80 MT by the end of this financial year.

    The cement to steel group's infrastructural arm plans to go public in 2019. The company has already invested Rs 2000 crore in its Jaigarh facility.

    Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Group, said "We definitely need to create more infrastructures to meet the growing demands from our stakeholders. We have a responsibility to develop them for the coming industrial growth.”

    Apart from Jaigarh and Dharamtar port in Maharashtra and South West Port in Goa, JWS is also developing a iron ore export terminal and coal export terminal at Paradip Port in Odisha , in a PPP.

    It recently received the bulk cargo vessel 'MV China Enterprise' that is carrying 2,00,000 MT of coking coal from Australia and is developing berthing facilities for dry bulk carriers, LNG carriers, largest container vessels and VLCCs.

    "India’s manufacturing prowess cannot be unleashed unless the nation has modern port infrastructure to adequately support its logistics operations. While receiving of India’s largest dry bulk parcel is indeed momentous, there is a need to continuously strive towards achieving even greater heights," Capt. BVJK Sharma, CEO, JSW Infrastructure said.
