CNG filling stations to observe one day strike on April 24

The GGL has been allotting CNG filling facilities to the petrol pumps in our vicinity, which is causing a huge losses on our sale. SURAT : Over 50 CNG filling stations in Surat and South Gujarat will observe a day's strike to protest against the long-pending demands with Gujarat Gas Limited 's (GGL) on April 24.The South Gujarat CNG Franchisee Association (SGCFA) has given a one-day strike call starting from 6:00 am on April 24 till 6:00 am on April 25. The CNG franchisees have threatened to go on indefinite strike if their demands are not met till May 1.The CNG filling station owners have been protesting against state-run GGL, for not increasing the commission on CNG and allotment of filling points at the petrol pumps. It is very tough to survive and so we have to take measures" CNG filling stations in Surat, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Navsari, Vapi and Valsad will join in the strike and they are supported from the filling stations in Surendranagar, Vadodara, Amreli, Limbd etc.The CNG station owners have demanded that the commission on CNG sales must be raised by 20 paise more than the commission paid on petrol, commission on CNG sales must be revised along with the commission on petrol, GGL must not allot CNG filling facility on OMC to petrol pumps within one km from the existing CNG franchise, the franchisees whose sale is less than 10,000 kg per day should be allowed an exit policy of three months etc.President of SGCFA, Neeraj Modi said, "The commission on petrol per liter is Rs 2.52, whereas the CNG stations gets a meagre commission.
