    CIL's production growth at 13% in October so far

    Coal minister Piyush Goyal also advised the employees of Coal India (CIL) to continue on the same path and break all the previous records.

    NEW DELHI: The government today said Coal India has achieved production growth of 13 per cent in the current month so far.
    "The Minister (Coal Minister Piyush Goyal) complimented the employees of CIL for their diligence and perseverance for achieving 10.1 per cent growth in coal production for September 2017 and 13 per cent growth in October 2017 so far," the Coal Ministry said in a statement.

    Goyal also advised the employees of Coal India (CIL) to continue on the same path and break all the previous records.

    The coal despatch to power sector registered a growth of 21 per cent in the last month and around 22 per cent till yesterday.

    The minister also announced the one-time advance payable to each employee would now be Rs 51,000 instead of Rs 40,000, before Diwali.

    "The one-time advance would be paid to the employees currently on the rolls of the company," the statement said.
