Mahindra XUV300 Beats Ford EcoSport In First Month Of Its Arrival
Mahindra XUV300 took a lead over the Ford EcoSport with 1328 units.
Mahindra XUV300, the subcompact SUV from the home-grown carmaker, went on sale in India on 15th February, 2019. The SUV carline has been made available with 7-seat and 8-seat configurations and four trims (W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O)), priced from Rs 7.90 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Within few weeks of its arrival, the Mahindra XUV300 has outsold one of its arch rivals – Ford EcoSport.
In February 2019, the Mahindra XUV300 registered total sales of 4484 units and the sales figures of the Ford EcoSport stood at 3156 units. That means, Mahindra’s new subcompact SUV took a lead over the EcoSport with 1328 units. The Mahindra XUV300 has been built on the modified version of the SsangYong Tivoli’s platform. The subcompact SUV is the widest and has the longest wheelbase in its category. It also comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity in the form of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

At the engine front, the Mahindra XUV300 gets a 1.2L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine generating power worth 110bhp with 200Nm and 115bhp with 300NM respectively. For transmission purpose, the SUV has a 6-speed manual gearbox.
