    SJVN, BHEL in MoU for solar projects

    Synopsis

    The MoU aims at building a strategic partnership between the parties for jointly pursuing commercial solar power projects through participation in tariff/viability gap funding based competitive bidding process.

    SJVN Ltd has commissioned five projects totalling 2015.2 mw of installed capacity including solar and wind.
    NEW DELHI: SJVN Ltd on Tuesday said it has entered into a MoU with Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd for development of solar power projects in India.

    The MoU aims at building a strategic partnership between the parties for jointly pursuing commercial solar power projects through participation in tariff/viability gap funding based competitive bidding process.

    As per MoU, BHEL will be an engineering, procurement, construction and project management contractor for SJVN projects. In addition to this, BHEL will also provide operation and maintenance services after commissioning of project.

    SJVN Ltd has commissioned five projects totalling 2015.2 mw of installed capacity including solar and wind.

    The company is presently implementing power projects in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujarat in India besides neighbouring countries viz. Nepal and Bhutan.

    This is one of steps for SJVN towards becoming 5000 mw company by 2023, and 25000 mw by 2040.
