Current Position: Managing Director

 

Mr. Vineet Agarwal is the Managing Director of Tranport Corporation of India Ltd (TCIL). He formally joined the Company in January 1996 and has held various finance and management roles within the Company. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Agarwal is Director with Transcorp International and Chairman in Transystem Logistics International has led the Company into high growth segments like Third Party Logistics.

Under his leadership, TCI has adapted to new technologies and work systems to grow from strength to strength. Mr Agarwal initiated Transystem Logistics International, a JV between TCI and Mitsui & Co, Japan for the complete logistics management of Toyota Kirloskar Motors in India. He has played a key role in orienting the organization to move from being a mere trucking company to evolve as one of Asia’s foremost integrated supply chain solutions provider .TCI today transports more than 1.5% of India’s GDP by value. TCI offers the entire range of supply chain solutions and provides a seamless mix of road, air, rail and sea transportation.

Qualification

Mr. Vineet holds a Bachelors degree of Science in Economics and Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

Achievements

Mr. Vineet Agarwal, is one of India’s youngest leaders. He has been instrumental in transforming the group into India’s leading & integrated logistics and supply chain solutions provider with a global footprint. A prominent spokesperson of the logistics sector, Mr. Agarwal has been regularly sharing his knowledge and experience at events nationally and globally and writing for leading financial publications. Mr. Vineet is an avid writer and speaker and regularly contributes articles on topical issues in leading publications. As an active member of prominent industry chambers such as CII, FICCI and Assocham, he has chaired several discussions including Working Group on Logistics, Planning Commission of India: New Delhi, CII Logistics Conference and Exhibition: Mumbai – India, CLM Annual Conference: Philadelphia – USA, Council of Logistics Management: India. A proactive philanthropist, he is devoted to the cause of HIV/AIDS prevention amongst the trucking community and primary education in the rural areas.

 

In his leisure time, Mr Agarwal catches up on reading, spending time with his family. His vision for TCI is to see it grow into a truly Global Supply Chain Management Enterprise. His personal goal is to be a good human being, good family man and a responsible citizen.
