Mr. Sanjay Behl

Raymond Ltd has roped in Mr. Sanjay Behl, as the CEO of textile and apparel businesses to lead the textile major's transformation into a global lifestyle company. He is focusing on strategies to reposition Raymond's textile business in tune with the changing wardrobe trends in India and elsewhere. Mr. Behl has already taken charge at Raymond and is currently meeting top executives to gain deeper insights into the business. Rising disposable incomes and growing preference for branded products have resulted in India's clothing industry growing at the rate of 17%. Total size of the industry is around three lakh crore, out of which 40% belongs to menswear products.

 

Experience & Specialisation

 

Mr. Behl began his career with Hindustan Lever Ltd (now HUL), where he spent 10 years between Sales and Marketing assignments. In early 2004, he joined Nokia India to head its Brand and Marketing Operations, wherein his responsibilities included managing brand,product, retail, media, technology, etc. Under his stewardship, Nokia was nominated as the CII Brand of the Year for 2004, apart from numerous other accolades. Prior to this elevation, Mr. Behl was Head of Brand and Marketing at Reliance Communications and was a key marketing resource for Reliance ADAG, overseeing corporate architecture .

 

Qualification

 

Mr. Behl is an engineer from IIT BHU (Varanasi) and has a degree in MBA (Marketing) from Sydenham Institute of Management, Mumbai University (1993).

 

Achievements & Awards

Mr.Sanjay Behl was voted amongst “Top 20 Young Achievers in India” in 2004 (Business Today) and the “Outstanding Marketing Professional” and “Outstanding Business Leader” in 2005 and 2006 respectively (IITM). He has been featured amongst “India’s 50 Most Powerful Brand Builders” in 2008.
