Ms. Anita Arjundas

Ms. Anita Arjundas serves as a Member of Group Executive Board and the Chief Executive Officer of Real Estate Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Ms. Arjundas serves as Managing Director of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited. Ms. Arjundas is responsible for Mahindra's focus on sustainable urbanization.
She leads Mahindra's pan-India presence in residential development under the Mahindra Lifespaces brand and integrated business cities under the Mahindra World City banner. Ms. Arjundas serves as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. since July 24, 2009 and has been its President since April 1, 2009.
She is responsible for all the Special Economic Zones/Industrial Parks being developed by Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. She serves as the Head the South India operations of the real estate business at Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. She is influential in successfully establishing the concept of Mahindra World City business parks integrated with residential developments and social amenities, as well as driving customer centricity and sustainable development.
She has 18 years of work experience. Ms. Arjundas joined Mahindra Group as Vice President, Marketing of Mahindra World City, Chennai in October 2002. She played a significant role in the success of Mahindra World City, Chennai. She served as the Chief Operating Officer of Mahindra World City since June 2006.
She served as the Chief Operating Officer of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd., from July 2007 to April 1, 2009. Before joining Mahindra, she spent ten years with Murugappa Group in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) space and three years in the IT industry in international marketing.
She serves as the Chairman of Mahindra Residential Developers Limited, Industrial Township (Maharashtra) Limited, Mahindra Bebanco Developers Limited, Mahindra Integrated Township Limited. She served as the Chairperson of Raigad Industrial & Business Park Ltd until July 31, 2013. She served as the Chairperson of Anthurium Developers Ltd. until July 31, 2013. She has been an Additional Director of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. since June 23, 2009.
She serves as a Director of Mahindra World City Developers Limited, Knowledge Township Limited, Mahindra Infrastructure Development Ltd., Mahindra World City (Jaipur) Limited. She serves as Chairman of Mahindra World City (Maharashtra) Limited. She is a Member of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Real Estate Council, Asia Society, and the Developer’s Committee of the Export Promotion Council for Export-Oriented Units and Special Economic Zones (EPCES).
In 2009, she received the Women in Leadership Award from the WILL Forum, India for driving gender equality in the workplace. In 2012, she was awarded the ‘Woman Achiever of the Year’ at the Construction week India awards. In 2012, she was voted as one of the India’s Top 10 (Young) Builders by CONSTRUCTION WORLD and CW INTERIORS at the 7th CW Architect & Builder Awards. In 2013, NDTV Property Awards recognised her, with the Outstanding Woman CEO Award.
This award recognizes her as the leading lady of India’s real estate industry and acknowledges her outstanding contributions towards making both Mahindra Lifespaces and Mahindra World City names to contend with in their respective spheres. She holds an M.B.A. from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy (BIM).
