Mr. Anil Chanana

Anil Chanana is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of HCL Technologies, a $6.0 billion global information technology services company. He is a finance professional with over three decades of experience spanning the entire gamut of finance, including Business Finance, Controllership, Global Compliances, Domestic & International Taxation, Treasury, Risk Management, Strategic Initiatives, and Legal and Secretarial.

During his tenure at HCL, he has held several positions in the finance function and is involved in various functions, including financial planning, taxation, fund raising, investment management, Forex, secretarial, investor relations, business finance-contracting, and commercials and litigation. He also held the position of Head of the Strategic Initiatives Group based out of Sunnyvale, California. He has been involved in key joint ventures with Hewlett-Packard, Deluxe Corporation, Perot Systems Corporation, Deutsche Bank, and British Telecom. He successfully negotiated the debt raising for one of the biggest acquisitions made by any IT company in India, at that time.

Anil has been a strong proponent of Corporate Governance Practices and works closely with the Board. It is this passion which has led to HCL Technologies being awarded the ‘National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance in 2012’. On the personal front, he has been conferred with India's most prestigious awards for the ‘Best Performing CFO in the IT & ITES Sector-2012’ by the CNBC-TV18 CFO Awards 2012-13.

He has been an active speaker across forums and his key interests are in the areas of taxation, M&A, corporate governance, and treasury. He has contributed articles to magazines and national dailies.

Anil is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has attended various programs including the Leadership Program conducted by Hewlett-Packard, and an Executive Program in Finance from Stanford University.
