Mr. Shaji Farooq

Shaji is the Chief Executive BFSI at Wipro. With more than a billion dollar revenue base, the BFSI business at Wipro serves around 100 customers across domains like retail banking, investment banking, capital markets, wealth management and insurers.

Prior to this, Shaji led Advanced Technologies service line at Wipro, created to exploit the transformational opportunities at the intersection of cloud, analytics, mobility, and high-performance technologies. Shaji also headed Wipro’s Global Alliances with strategic technology partners. In this role, he was responsible for further strengthening Wipro’s strategic alliances, and driving business with Wipro’s global partners.

Additionally, Shaji was responsible for global transformation of Wipro’s Go-to-Market strategy. In this role, Shaji was driving a unified approach across Sales Force Enablement and Strategic Marketing functions to improve Wipro’s sales and marketing effectiveness.

Prior to joining Wipro, Shaji held several senior positions – most recently at Infosys, he was SVP & Global Head, Consulting & Systems Integration across FSI, and Head, Banking & Capital Markets for the Americas. Shaji has over 24 years of professional experience. His areas of expertise include Business & IT Strategy, Business Process Redesign, and Business Value Realization, with significant focus on the Financial Services and High Tech Industries. He has managed large teams, and has been an active contributor to innovation and thought leadership. Shaji holds 40 technology patents.

Shaji has an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at NYU, a Ph.D. in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He is based out of New York.
