Mr. Tulsi Tanti, a qualified Mechanical Engineer, founded and Chairman Suzlon Energy Limited. Mr. Tanti has driven Suzlon not as a business, but as a cause – contributing to the world by creating sustainable social, economic and ecological development, by using the very best of technology to help mitigate the global climate crisis.Mr. Tulsi R. Tanti founded Suzlon Energy Limited in 1995 and has been its Managing Director and Chairman since inception.

Mr. Tanti serves as Chief Promoter of Suzlon Energy Ltd. He has over twenty-five years of experience in various technical and commercial areas. He has been involved in Suzlon's operations since inception. He is also the President of Gujarat Chapter of Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association. He has been an Executive Director of Suzlon Energy Limited since December 1, 2000. He served as Former Chairman of Supervisory Board of Senvion SE. He serves as a Member of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management Kashipur.

He was awarded the "World Wind Energy Award 2003" for his extraordinary achievements in the dissemination of the wind energy in India. He was also awarded the "Champions of Composites Technologies" award by Composite Centre International for his outstanding contribution in application of composite materials and development of composite technology and the "Business Leadership Award 2002" by Solar Energy Society of India. Mr. Tanti is a Commerce Graduate and holds a Diploma-in-Mechanical Engineering.
