Mr. Murugappan Muthiah Murugappan serves as the Chief Technology Officer, Head of Human Resources and Director of Technology of Murugappa Group Ltd.
He is a Partner of Murugappa & Sons and Kadamane Estates Company. Mr. Murugappan is an expert in technology and research strategies. He served as the Joint Managing Director of Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI) from 1996 to 1999. He played a pivotal role in transforming it into a process oriented organization and fostered a strong culture of team work within Carborundum. He has been the Non Executive Chairman of Tube Investments of India Limited since November 1, 2006.
He serves as the Chairman of Shanthi Gears Ltd. He has been the Chairman of Carborundum Universal Limited since January 22, 2004. He serves as the Chairman of MEL Systems & Services Ltd., Murugappa Morgan Thermal Ceramics Ltd., and Wendt (India) Limited. He has been a Vice Chairman of Murugappa Group Ltd since October 31, 2009.
