Mr. Sushil Chandra Tripathi, also known as Chand, M.Sc., IAS (Retd.) served as Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for Government of India until December 2005.

Mr. Tripathi has held several senior level posts including Principal Secretary to Government of U.P., Lucknow in charge of Finance, Additional Secretary Chairman and Managing Director of Mines Ministry, BALCO, NALCO, and Secretary to Government of Delhi for Education.

He served as Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India in December 2005. He was an I.A.S. officer and specialized in rural economy and cooperation. He has over 20 years of experience at State, Central Govt. & International level in Public Finances, Industrial & Communal Finance & Banking.

He has been a Non-Executive Independent Director of Samvardhana Motherson Finance Limited since September 14, 2011. He has been an Independent Director of Gammon Infrastructure Projects Limited since May 21, 2008 and Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd. since September 10, 2012.

He has been a Director of Reliance Capital Asset Management Limited since February 1, 2007. He served as an Independent Director of IndusInd Bank Limited Ltd since February 14, 2007 until February 13, 2015. He served as a Non-official Part-time Director of The Shipping Corporation of India Limited since December 13, 2007.

He served as a Non Executive Director of Modi Rubber Limited until February 23, 2010. He served as a Director of Shriram EPC Limited from May 25, 2009 to June 23, 2009.

Mr. Tripathi holds an M. Sc. and a L.L.B. Degree, a P. G. Diploma in Development (Cantab), and also a Diploma in Management from A.I.M.A.
