Mr. Atul Tayal

Atul Tayal is an entrepreneur par excellence, who has over the past 3 decades, successfully established and run many businesses. He co-promoted Rolta Consultancy Services with Mr. K. K. Singh in 1988, which merged into Rolta India Ltd, when Rolta went public in 1990.

Today, Atul Tayal is the Joint Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board of Rolta India Ltd and oversees the India businesses, especially those related to Defense and Security. Atul Tayal is also the Managing Director of Rolta Thales Ltd, a joint venture between Rolta and Thales, France. Thales is a world-leader in mission critical information systems for Aerospace, Defense and Security markets. He played a critical role in conceiving and bringing to fruition this joint venture.

Atul Tayal was the Director in-charge of Shaw Rolta Ltd, a 50:50 Joint Venture between Rolta and the Shaw Group, USA for providing engineering services, globally. After setting up this business and profitably running it for many years, he successfully monetized Rolta investments in this JV by offloading the Rolta stake to Shaw at a significant return on investment for Rolta.

Atul Tayal is the Co-Chairman of FICCI's Taskforce on Geospatial Technology and a member of FICCI and CII's Defense committees. He graduated from Kurukshetra University and completed his MBA from the Xavier Institute of Management. He lives in Mumbai and is happily married with two college-going children.
